Pre-departure Checklist

To help make sure you’re fully prepared for your move to Perth, we’ve put together this simple step-by-step checklist for you to follow.

Making the move to Perth

Have you received your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from your education provider and confirmation of your Student Visa?

If so, congratulations! Now it's time to start preparing for your move.

We’ve put together this helpful pre-departure checklist with the must-have items you need before you depart.

Travel Essentials

  • I have my student visa and understand its requirements.

  • I have booked my flights to Perth and will arrive in time for orientation.

  • I have checked that my hand luggage and suitcase comply with my airline’s baggage allowance.

  • I have a small amount of Australian dollars in cash for any unexpected or immediate expenses before setting up a bank account.

  • I have registered for the StudyPerth Airport Welcome Service to ensure I receive a warm welcome and a free welcome pack when I arrive at Perth International Airport (Terminal 1). Check the page for dates of the next round.
  • I have planned my transport from Perth Airport and checked if my institution offers free airport pickup.

  • I have familiarised myself with the overall cost of living in Perth and have set a budget.

  • I have booked temporary or long-term accommodation for when I arrive in Perth.

Important documents to bring

  • I have my passport and checked that it is valid for at least 6 months.
  • I have other forms of identification like my driver’s license and birth certificate.

  • (If applicable) I have copies of my medical records and prescriptions.

What you can (and can't) bring into Australia
