In collaboration with governments, educational institutions and stakeholders, StudyPerth provides a leadership role in building the profile of international education in WA and overseas. It is also the first point of contact for anyone wishing to obtain information on studying and living in Perth.
International education has always been a strong focus in Western Australia.
Originally called Perth Education City (PEC), the StudyPerth entity originated in 1987 when interested institutions identified a need to meet and discuss issues of common interest in regards to international education. Over time, more institutions expressed an interest in the group, and in 1996 a registered association with its own secretariat was launched.
StudyPerth is now strongly supported by the Government of Western Australia through the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. Our relaunch as 'StudyPerth' was in response to the need for a new identity for international education in a new, internationally recognised Perth.
Our member institutions include the state’s world-class universities, plus vocational education providers, primary and secondary schools, and English language colleges – both from the public and private sectors. With 52,000 international student enrolments in Western Australia in 2018, we are pleased that the majority are hosted by one of StudyPerth’s member institutions.
In addition to our education provider members, StudyPerth also welcomes membership with associated organisations in the wider education industry.
