Career goals:
My goal is to build a meaningful career as a Health Promotion Officer in Australia, empowering communities make informed behaviour choices through effective and protective health messages. Over the next three years, I also hope to explore different areas of the health sector, discover where my passion lies, and use that experience as a foundation to pursue a research career.
Previous experience in the field:
I have strong knowledge of public health research and health promotion, and experience in project coordination. Through my studies at Curtin University, I’ve worked on real-world public health projects involving epidemiological data analysis, regression modelling and program evaluation, with a strong focus on turning data and research findings into health promotion initiatives. I also developed my project coordination skills as Head of Program Coordination for a Social Work Club, coordinating two charity events and three team-building activities involving up to 500 participants. This strengthened my skills in planning, teamwork, communication and stakeholder engagement. These experiences strengthened my interest in using evidence-based strategies to raise health awareness and create positive health outcomes within communities.
