My name is Shapagat, but you can call me Shapa. I am currently studying my Master of Agricultural Economics at UWA. I come from Kazakhstan and bring a mix of academic success and professional experience to my journey in Australia. My career has included work in business, civil service, and entrepreneurship, such as running my own retail shop and working in Central Asia's economic sector.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy writing and blogging about economic sustainability, social issues, and my life here in Perth. I love swimming, meditating, and reading about the possibilities of our minds. Connecting with others and sharing inspiring ideas energizes me. I'm always eager to embrace new cultures, opportunities, and challenges.

Why I Chose WA:

Western Australia stood out for me for its multicultural community, top-quality education, and beautiful natural scenery. The welcoming atmosphere at UWA and the opportunity to learn from experts made it the perfect place to grow my skills and start a new chapter in my life.

WA feels like home with its mix of city life and nature, giving me both comfort and excitement as I explore.

Building on my background in business and civil service, I seek to combine my expertise with my passion for sustainable agriculture and economic development. My focus is on tackling global challenges such as land degradation, resource management, and food security through innovative solutions and effective policies.

I aspire to contribute to initiatives that empower communities, improve agricultural practices, and protect the environment. My studies at UWA are equipping me with the skills to take on leadership roles in developing sustainable strategies, with a particular focus on Central Asia and similar regions.

My ultimate ambition is to become a leader in agricultural economics and the agribusiness sector. I am committed to driving innovation and advancing sustainable practices to address pressing global challenges. Through strategic solutions and collaborative efforts, I aim to make a meaningful impact on the industry, support communities, and help shape a more resilient and sustainable future for agriculture.
