About Me:

Hi, I'm Himasha Jayakody, an international student from Sri Lanka, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at ECU. Moving abroad to study has been a transformative experience, inspiring me to embrace new challenges and cultural diversity.

I am passionate about exploring the world of business and finance, especially how creative strategies can shape industries. Outside of my studies, I enjoy staying active through activities like Pilates, discovering local cafes, and reading manga.

Why I Chose WA:

I chose Western Australia because of its vibrant multicultural community and strong academic reputation. After completing my foundation studies at Edith Cowan College in Sri Lanka, I got the opportunity to continue my higher studies at ECU in Perth. The familiar sunny climate just like in Sri Lanka and the chance to experience WA's stunning natural beauty made it the perfect place to pursue my studies.

Top 3 Aspects I Love about WA:

  1. Stunning beaches and spectacular sunsets
  2. Coffee culture
  3. Friendly and supportive community

Career Aspirations:

I chose to study commerce because I am passionate about understanding the dynamics of business and finance and how they shape our world. This field offers endless opportunities to innovate and make meaningful contributions. Once I graduate, I aspire to pursue a career in accounting, focusing on helping businesses grow sustainably while achieving their financial goals. My long-term aim is to gain professional qualifications and become a trusted advisor in the industry.
