International Student 5-a-Side Football Competition

The event

Inspired by the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, this event brings international students together through the universal language of football (soccer). It's an opportunity to build friendships, promote healthy minds and bodies, and enjoy some friendly competition in a fun and inclusive environment.

How to get there

• Lords Recreation Centre is approximately 10–15 minutes from the Perth CBD.
• You can catch the Fremantle Line to Subiaco Station, followed by a 10-minute walk to the venue.
• Several Transperth bus services, including Routes 24, 27 and 28, stop walking distance of the venue.
• We recommend using the Transperth Journey Planner to plan your trip.

• Competition starts: 1:00 pm
• Finish: 4:00 pm

How to register

• Students should register through their school or college
• Visit your student services team or academic staff.
• Teams can choose their own team’s name.
• Each school or college may register a team of up to seven (7) players.
• Schools or colleges may register more than one team.
• Each team will field five (5) players at a time—four (4) outfield players and one (1) goalkeeper—with the remaining players acting as substitutes and rotating throughout the competition.
• Supporters are welcome.

Registration is free.

Friday 17th July 2026, 12:00pm.

Team composition

Teams must be mixed gender, with as even a balance as possible (for example, three (3) players of one gender and four (4) of another gender).

What's provided?

Light refreshments, including snacks and soft drinks, will be available for participants.
