Course – PhD student in Education

I moved to Perth and commenced my PhD study in March 2019.

After studying and working in universities for more than 10 years, I have seen many university students – especially international students around me – experiencing challenges, some of which may potentially lead to poor mental health. However, a lot of them did not realise that they were experiencing mental health issues until things were getting serious. So, I decided to do something to help improve this situation, specifically by developing brief, easily administered, reliable and valid instruments to assess university students’ mental health very quickly or to monitor their mental health status in the long term.

After completing my degree, I want to continue dedicating myself to my research on the mental health and wellbeing of students in higher education.

I enjoy going for a swim where possible and attending Zumba classes in my free time!
