International Student Ambassador Vishwa Patel talks us through her experience living and studying in Perth through a short Q&A.
Why did you choose to study in Perth?
I moved to Perth in June 2018 and commenced studies in July 2018. I love studying human biology and have compassion for caring for people and the wider community, which led me to choose nursing.
What do you love most about living in Perth?
I love the multicultural environment of Perth where you get to make connections with people from various backgrounds and learn about their culture! I also adore Perth's beaches, exploring different places and camping.
What do you love about your studies and institution?
I believe that I have good listening skills as well as an empathy-providing nature, which best suits a profession like nursing. There are so many types of nursing – however, the area that interests me is community and mental health nursing. I want to help the community and the vulnerable population of society to achieve better health outcomes and enhance their standard of living.
What would you like to do after you finish studying in Perth?
I am also interested in mindfulness, meditation and spirituality. Therefore, I am also looking forward to merging all my interests and building a great career in my life.
