Where to go: Young, artistic and always busy, Mount Lawley is an eclectic mix of cafes, bars, and eateries from every part of the world. With a creative and lively Beaufort St community, this area is a combination of old-town character and modern sophistication.
What to eat: A favourite for lovers of good coffee and Perth’s popular long, late breakfasts, you’ll find just about anything you could want to eat in Mount Lawley! Come here for cheap mid-week meals, exquisite fine dining, something quick for lunch or a romantic oyster dinner for two.
Where to go: Perth’s original port city is famous for fish ’n’ chips, Little Creatures Restaurant and Brewery, the cappuccino strip and its Italian heritage roots. A large artistic and bohemian community gives Fremantle a relaxed and colourful atmosphere, especially on weekends.
What to eat: Come here for Fremantle’s famous fish and chips on the waterfront, or a refreshing gelato on a hot summer’s day. Fresh seafood, pasta, pizza, boutique beer, food markets and modern Australian fare make it easy to eat your way from one end of Fremantle to the other!
The Swan Valley
Where to go: A short drive East of the city takes you to the picturesque Swan Valley area where you can sample flavours from local producers. A great day trip with friends or family.
What to eat: Locally made cheeses, chocolate, German sausages, wine, beer, lavender jams, coffee, honey, ice cream, and nougat. You will not come home empty-handed!
