Chinese New Year in Perth
Chinese New Year is always a big celebration, especially in Perth, where we share the time zone as China, combined with the balmy nights it is guaranteed to be a good night out. There are so many events on to help celebrate the Year of the Rooster, and if you can’t decide you can always just head to China Town in Northbridge.
Fringe Festival Chinese New Year
This free event complete with a Chinese costume photo booth runs all day. There are so many activities, from games, waterslides, Chinese dancing, martial arts, lion dancers and fire crackers to name a few you will need 9 and a half hours to fit it all in.

Chinese New Year on the Quay
Running for a full week, Chinese New Year on the Quay will bring Chinese culture and colour to the Swan River. This festival also has something for everyone, from dancing to tai chi classes.
Also at the Quay will be the Chinese lantern wall, this interactive art installation lights as you touch it.

Forrest Place Hawkers Market
This Friday night, Forrest Place will celebrate Chinese New Year with authentic Chinese food and performances, all set in front of Perth’s iconic General Post Office that will house an amazing light and animation installation.
